More Games Are Getting an FPS Boost on Xbox Series S/X

On April 22nd, Xbox announced that more games for its Series S/X consoles would be getting the FPS Boost treatment. You might me wondering what that is. The FPS Boost is an Xbox feature that employs a variety of new rendering techniques to double the original framerate on select titles, from 60 fps to 120 fps. Which means that certain games will be able to look smoother, enhancing both the player experience and immersion.

According to Xbox, since there are higher graphic requirements to make FPS Boost work, some of the titles using this feature will see a drop in their resolution, in order to ensure they can be played in the best way possible.

The new games joining the FPS Boost feature are all from EA. You can see the list below:

  • Battlefield 1
  • Battlefield 4
  • Battlefield 5
  • Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst
  • Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
  • Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare
  • Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2
  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • Star Wars Battlefront 2
  • Titanfall
  • Titanfall 2
  • Unravel 2

These 12 titles join Far Cry 4, New Super Lucky’s Tale, Sniper Elite 4, UFC 4, Watch Dogs 2, Dishonored: Definite Edition, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Prey, and Skyrim Special Edition, which already enjoyed the FPS Boost treatment earlier this year.

To experience the FPS Boost feature on these new games, make sure your Xbox console has taken the latest system update.
